The Police Are Looking After Palm Cove Again

Burglary and property charges, Palm Cove: Two Woree men aged 22 and 33 as well as a 16-year-old male from Manunda were charged yesterday as a result of investigations into a number of burglary offences.

It will be alleged that the three gained entry to two neighbouring residences in Thais Street at Palm Cove in the early hours of yesterday morning and stole property including a wallet, camera, keys and a laptop computer.

Police intercepted a vehicle in McEwen Street at Mooroobool at around 3am yesterday and a number of people fled. The 22 and 33-year-olds were apprehended after a short foot chase and taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed that it had been stolen during a burglary offence at Cairns North on May 3 and a quantity of property from the Palm Cove incidents was also located inside.

The men were both charged with burglary and property offences.

Further inquiries led police to a Woree address on Sunday afternoon where the 16-year-old youth was taken into custody and charged similarly.

Investigations into the incidents are continuing.
